PROFESSIONAL MOTORSPORT WORLD EXPO 2007 BEATS ALL EXPECTATIONS!
From the opening day of Professional MotorSport World Expo 2007, it was clear that this year’s show was destined to be a racing success! The doors had only been open for an hour when Koelnmesse’s Hall 7 was already teaming with qualified ‘trade-only’ visitors, representing a diverse range of motorsport disciplines from F1 and DTM, all the way through to the club racer. Visitors came from 50 countries, including North America, Australia and Japan, keen to check out the latest technologies from the 280 exhibitors. By the end of the three days, visitor numbers had totalled 4,900 – 35% up on the previous year!

The 2007 show boasted double the floor space, showcasing exhibitors covering everything from race cars to safety technology, engine components, sponsorship, logistics and race car equipment and components. Among the wide array of attractions on offer to visitors was a comprehensive program of free-to-attend forums and workshops including a new European Race Series Organizers’ Forum, new Professional MotorSport World Expo Workshops sponsored by Porsche and a new external dyno demonstration test area.

The Gala Dinner was a real highlight of the event, with 960 motorsport professionals in attendance to watch the presentation of the 2007 Professional MotorSport World Expo Awards. Christian Loriaux, technical director of the Ford World Rally Team, picked up the prize for Design Engineer of the Year, while Spa-Francorchamps was a popular winner of MotorSport Facility of the Year.
