PMW 2CV 24 hour race!

Professional MotorSport World entered a 2CV in the now legendary 24-hour endurance race at Snetterton circuit in the UK.
The keenly contested race features no fewer than 36 modified examples of the iconic French family car, with all the drivers keen to secure a glorious victory! The Professional Motorsport World car featured the father and son team of company CEO Tony Robinson and resident Clio Cup front-runner Mike Robinson. Neil Chillstone and Greg Page finished off the four-driver line-up.
The team put in a strong performance to qualify the car 11th on the grid and in the early, wet stages of the race, they climbed up to 5th putting the team in a strong position for overall honours. But endurance racing can take its toll on man and machine and a mechanical problem dropped the team down to 14th as the race entered the night.
More strong driving pulled the Professional MotorSport World car back up to 9th during the night period, but before daylight broke more mechanical problems (and a couple of engine changes!) had dropped the car back to 25th place.
With nothing to lose, Tony Robinson decided to extract all possible performance from the tiny engine and alongside Mike Robinson’s quick final laps (which included the fourth fastest of the race), the team managed to finish the tiring 24 hour marathon in 17th position overall.
“It was a great adventure”, said Tony Robinson. “These cars go surprisingly well for what they are and we had fun all the way! An endurance race is always a bit of a lottery, and had we not had some engine problems I think we could have had a chance. Rest assured, we’ll be back next year to put the record straight!”
