Ricardo’s focus at this year’s expo will be sustainable, integrated solutions supporting the decarbonization of motorsport. In addition to showcasing its leading powertrain and drivetrain solutions for traditional propulsion systems, the company will feature its solutions and services for the next generation of electrified and alternative-fuel motorsport platforms. This includes transmissions, motors, integrated EDU solutions and Ricardo’s sustainable supply chain management and battery assembly capability.

The motorsport industry is leading the way when it comes to advances in high-performance electrification, and technology transfer to the automotive market is also a focus for Ricardo. The company will feature a parallel axis and an epicyclic reduction drive from its family of electrified transmission solutions for high-performance and specialized vehicles, which were born from Ricardo’s technical experience in Formula E.

These transmissions are available off the shelf to support prototype development and technology demonstrators, or can be tailored to meet bespoke requirements for a wide variety of real-world applications with very short lead times. These highly customizable transmission solutions have proved popular with Ricardo’s clients in the motorsport, defense, power sport and high-performance vehicle markets and are offered as standalone products or as part of the company’s fully integrated EDU packages.
