If you’ve ever had a silicone coolant hose fail, you’ll want to stop by the booth of Extreme 14, which will present its assortment of coolant hoses that are resistant to the ravages of long-life OAT coolants. Unlike fluoro-lined silicone hoses, which can still be compromised, Extreme 14’s hoses are naturally resistant to OATs, in addition to being able to endure temperatures up to 230°C. Its OAT-grade hose typically also offers 30% higher burst pressure than standard coolant hoses.

The company has also developed a new type of silicone hose for use on fuel cell and hybrid vehicles. The FCSH range of hoses is lined with a technically advanced, clear silicone that has been developed to minimize the risk of contamination by the fluid or air carried by the hose. Conventional silicone can contain trace levels of extractable materials, which can be a risk to fuel cell and hybrid systems. Extreme 14’s FCSH hoses offer all the benefits of normal silicone hoses, including resistance to high temperatures and flexibility at low temperatures.
